National High School Essay Contest by the United States Institute of Peace. About: The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) partners with the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) to host this annual contest aimed to engage high school students in learning and writing about issues of peace and conflict, encouraging appreciation for For 27 years, the National Peace Essay Contest promoted serious discussion among high school students, teachers, and national leaders about international peace and conflict resolution today and in the future.

The American Foreign Service Associations national high school essay contest completed its twentieth year with almost 1, 000 submissions from 48 states, two territories and five countries (Indonesia, Burma, South Korea, Tanzania, and United Kingdom).

The 2017 National High School Essay Contest has begun! This is the 19th year of this prestigious contest, which encourages high school students to think about important international issues and learn about one of Americas best kept secrets: The United States Foreign Service.

USIP partners with the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) on the annual National High School Essay Contest. The contest each year engages high school students in learning and writing about issues of peace and conflict, encouraging appreciation for diplomacys role in building partnerships that can advance peacebuilding and protect national Congressional Seminar Essay Contest for High School Students.

This essay contest is a major project of The NSCDA held under the auspices of the Washington Workshops Foundation, a private nonprofit educational program in American government for high school students. Established more than thirty five years ago, the ACTR National Russian Essay Contest (NREC) provides high school and middle school students the opportunity to demonstrate their writing proficiency in Russian.

This list covers only a small number of the many competitions out there, but hopefully it opens your eyes to the many types of contests out there! Since launching the essay contest during National School Choice Week in January, more than 300 Michigan charter school students have shared their stories with us about who their heroes are.

We were deeply moved by the essays received. The High School Essay Contest is open to High School students attending 9th through 12th grades. A 1, 000 National Garden Club Scholarship will be awarded to the National Winner. If the winner is an underclassman, the 1, 000 Scholarship will be held by NGC, Inc.without accrued interest, until such time that the student enters college.
