George ritzer idea of mcdonaldization essay

According to George Ritzer, in his book The Mcdonaldization of Society, he defines this theory of Mcdonaldization of having four main components. They are: 1. Predictability having emphasis on discipline, systematization and routine so that things are the same from one time or place to another. McDonaldization as defined by George Ritzer is" the process by which the principles of the fastfood restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of society".

This concept originally stems from the concept of bureaucracy, which was a type of organisational structure that aimed to rationalise and standardise its products and McDonaldization is an idea developed by an American sociologist George Ritzer. In his book The McDonaldization of Society, he defines it as the way in which principles of the fastfood industry have come to take up the aspect of the American society as well as the world at large.

George Ritzer describes McDonaldization as the process by which the principles of the fastfood restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as the rest of the world.

George Ritzers McDonaldization of Society is based on his theory and social criticism on rationalization of society as a whole through the growth and principles of McDonalds fastfood model of business.
